MCPatcher is an application for Windows PC and other operating systems, that allows you to patch an existing installation of Minecraft to gain more control over the way it appears, install mods with ease and switch between older versions of the game.

To use this software, you must already have a valid version of Minecraft from Mojang installed. Then, you simply open up MCPatcher and select the features that you want to enable. After pressing the Patch button, the program does all of the work and your changes are applied instantly.

If you are looking for more control over the way that Minecraft looks, this software will allow you to do more with textures than you ever could before. By enabling Connected Textures, you can seamlessly place glass, bookshelves, and sandstone next to each other. The Random Mobs feature uses special Resource Packs that can add variety to the game by giving each enemy and animal a randomized skin. This makes your world feel more alive, by making it seem like there are more types of enemies than are actually programmed to exist.

You will even see drastic visual changes without having to use a separate resource pack. Transparent items such as glass and water will seem more natural, as this patch alters the way they are displayed. You can even alter the textures of the clouds and sky to your liking, to give your game that otherworldly feel.

Some aspects of vanilla Minecraft, such as the color of the swamps and lighting effects are not normally alterable, even with a Resource Pack. This is no longer the case with MCPatcher, and you may change these and many other aspects of the game to anything that you like. There are also other small changes that make a big impact, such as more fluid animations, and mipmapping to make terrain in the distance look smoother.

If you are looking to extend Minecraft even farther, you can use MCPatcher to install third-party mods. This eliminates having to open up the JAR file and install mods manually, and makes it a lot easier for less technically-inclined people to get the job done.

Not all users will need every modification that is included in this package, and some might actually enjoy the some of the charms provided by the unpatched version of Minecraft. That’s why every single feature included in MCPatcher is optional and reversible if needed. If you try out an alteration and you are not too fond of it, no worries as you can immediately remove the patch from your game and a backup can be reloaded. It’s like it never even happened!

The effects of this software can be as subtle or robust as your gameplay style requires. With its visual tweaks, mod installation capabilities and backup tools, it’s a useful application for Minecraft novices and experts alike.
